Houston Cougars Men’s Basketball to Face Auburn in Toyota Center

The Houston Cougars Men's Basketball team will face Auburn during The Battleground 2k24 inside Toyota Center on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Tipoff time, ticket information and broadcasting network will be announced at a later date.
The game will be part of a doubleheader with Rice facing Florida State in the first game.
It also will be the first game in a two-year series against Auburn. The Cougars meet the Tigers inside Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala., during the 2025-26 season.
"We are very excited about The Battleground 2k college hoops series and the opportunity that this premier sports platform presents to combine great competition with community in both Houston and Birmingham," USE President Rhossi Carron says. "Both events will focus on empowering and improving the lives of kids in those communities and helping the participating student-athletes develop their passion for giving back in a genuine way. We look forward to utilizing The Battleground 2k basketball platform to impact the lives of children in these great cities."
This marks the second straight season in which the Cougars – under the leadership of 2024 National Coach of the Year Kelvin Sampson – will compete inside Toyota Center. A year ago, Houston enjoyed a 70-66 win over Texas A&M during The Halal Guys Showcase on Dec. 16, 2023.
Guard Emanuel Sharp led the Cougars with 21 points and five 3-pointers and added six rebounds with a steal on the way to being named the game's Most Valuable Player. With the shot clock winding down and the Cougars clinging to a 2-point lead, Sharp buried a 3-pointer with less than 30 seconds remaining to extend Houston's advantage and later drained a pair of free throws with only five seconds left for the final margin of victory.
