Houston Cougars Men's Hoops to Face Towson in Charleston Classic First Round

The Houston Cougars Men's Basketball team learned their First-Round opponent and the complete bracket for the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic.

The Coogs will meet Towson at 5:30 p.m. (CT), Nov. 16, inside TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. That game will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU. It will be the first time Houston has faced the Tigers in Men's Basketball.

From there, Houston will face the winner/loser of the Utah-Wake Forest game on Nov. 17 at a time to be determined. The Cougars last faced Wake Forest in a 78-73 win at the Paradise Jam in Lynchburg, Va., on Nov. 19, 2017. If Houston meets Utah, it would be the first time since an 82-57 win at the Suntory Classic in Tokyo on Dec. 17, 1982, in the only previous meeting between the two schools.

St. John's, North Texas, Dayton and LSU are on the opposite side of Houston's bracket.

The Coogs' stay at the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic concludes Nov. 19 against an opponent and at a time to be determined by the tournament results.
