Houston freshman forward Jarace Walker Named AAC Freshman of the Week

For the fourth time this season, University of Houston freshman forward Jarace Walker was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday.
This season, Walker ranks third among the Cougars with 10.1 points per game but stand second on the team with 6.6 rebounds per contest. His rebounding average ranks fourth in Houston freshmen single-season history, trailing only Clyde Drexler (10.5 rpg in 1980-81), George Williams (8.5 rpg in 1999-00) and TaShawn Thomas (8.2 rpg in 2011-12).
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Jarace Walker * Forward * Houston
In two games last week, Walker averaged 7.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. He scored six points with a team-high nine rebounds in a road win at Tulane on Tuesday before recording nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds against Temple on Sunday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DeAndre Williams * Senior * Forward * Memphis
Williams averaged 27.5 points and 11.5 rebounds as the Tigers picked up a pair of wins last week. He posted 29 points and 15 rebounds on Thursday against Wichita State and followed that up with 26 points and eight rebounds on the road at Cincinnati on Sunday.
Landers Nolley II * Redshirt-Senior *, Guard, Cincinnati
Nolley averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists as the Bearcats went 1-1 last week.
Tyler Harris * Senior * Guard * South Florida
Harris averaged 21.5 points in two games for the Bulls, including a career-high 33 points in a win over in-state rival UCF.
Damian Dunn * Redshirt-Sophomore * Guard * Temple
Dunn averaged 19.0 points in two wins for the Owls, including 16 in win at then-No. 1 Houston on Sunday.
Bryant Selebangue * Sophomore * Forward * Tulsa
Selebangue averaged 16.0 points and 13.0 rebounds as the Golden Hurricane went 1-1 last week.
Jaykwon Walton * Junior * Guard * Wichita State
Walton averaged 16.5 points in 2 games and had a game-high 18 points as the Shockers won on the road at SMU on Sunday.
