Thursday afternoon, the Houston Cougars Men's Basketball program learned the breakdown of its 2022-23 American Athletic Conference opponents.

The Coogs and their American rivals will play 18-game league schedules in 2022-23. Each school will play eight of its 10 opponents twice – home and away – with one opponent on the road only and one opponent at home only.

In 2022-23, Houston will face Cincinnati, Memphis, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, UCF and Wichita State in home-and-away series. The Cougars will play South Florida once in the Fertitta Center while hitting the road to take on East Carolina in Greenville, N.C.

A year ago, the Cougars posted a 32-6 overall record, advanced to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight and swept both The American regular-season and tournament titles. It was only the fourth time in school history that the Cougars swept both conference championships.

The first AAC conference play dates will be December 27-29 and league play will run through Sunday, March 5, 2023. The 2023 American Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championship will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, March 9-12.
