Mercy Miller, Class of 2024, verbals to Coogs

Mercy Miller, one of the top guards in the country in the Class of 2024, has verbally committed to the Houston Cougars men's basketball program.

Miller and his dad (Percy Miller, better known as "Master P") made an unofficial visit to the Houston campus last week. Percy Miller was seen in pics taken and tweeted by the Houston Cougars women's basketball program:

Fast forward to today when, this morning, Percy Miller announced Mercy's verbal commitment to UH men's hoops:

Mercy, 6'4", attends Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, MN; however, he plays for the JL3 Elite grassroots basketball program based in Houston, TX. Minnehaha Academy won the state of Minnesota's Class 3A boys high school championship this past season; and, one of Mercy's teammates (along with his brother Hercy) on that championship squad was Chet Holmgren -- the 7'0" wunderkind who is considered the top player in the Class of 2021. Holmgren will attend Gonzaga this fall and hoop for Coach Mark Few and the Zags.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. The early signing period for the 2024 Class to sign National Letters of Intent does not begin until Wednesday, November 13, 2023, and ends Wednesday, November 20, 2023. The regular signing period for the 2024 Class begins Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
