2021-22 schedule UPDATE: Coogs to host Montana Tech on November 6

Monday afternoon, another opponent for the Houston Cougars Men's Basketball Team's 2021-22 season was announced when the Montana Tech Diggers announced it would face the Coogs on November 6.

Houston Head Coach Kelvin Sampson was an assistant coach at Montana Tech in the 1980-81 season before being named head coach of the (Ore)Diggers from 1981 to 1985. Montana Tech was Coach Sampson's first college head coaching job.

In addition to the November 6th game versus Montana Tech, Houston will participate in the 2021 Maui Invitational (November 22-24). Butler, Chaminade, Houston, Notre Dame, Oregon, Saint Mary's, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin are participants in the 38th annual Maui Tournament.

In addition to those games, Houston, reportedly, has agreed to a home-and-home series with the Virginia Cavaliers. Houston is expected to host Virginia inside the Fertitta Center this season.

Last season, Houston advanced to the 2021 Men's Final Four and finished the season with a 28-4 record.
