Josh Carlton announces he's transferring to the Houston Cougars men's basketball program

After the Houston Cougars' 78-59 loss in the Final Four semifinals on Saturday, April 3, Houston Head Coach Kelvin Sampson said during his postgame media session, "And obviously, like everyone else, we'll pick up some kids from the transfer portal as well."
Two days later, Josh Carlton announced via Instagram he was transferring to Houston.
Carlton, 6'11", 240, will graduate from the University of Connecticut next month before heading to Houston.
He will play at Houston as a graduate student.

Carlton averaged 11.2 minutes per game in 19 games for UConn in the 2020-21 season. He averaged 3.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game this season. Carlton made 27 of 56 (48.2 fg%) shots in 2020-21.
