Michael Thomas, 6'4 guard from Kilgore College, commits to Coogs

Michael Thomas, 6'4" guard, from Kilgore College, has committed to Kelvin Sampson and the University of Houston Cougars' men's' basketball program.

CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein was first to report Thomas' commit to the Coogs:

Last Saturday, Thomas narrowed his choices to six schools: George, Houston, Ole Miss, Seton Hall, SMU, and Wichita State.

Today, Thomas chose Houston. In 2019-'20, Thomas shot 51.9% from the floor including 40.0 from three. He shot 64.8% from the foul line and averaged 14.9 points per game in 24.6 minutes per game for Kilgore Head Coach Brian Hoberecht.

Thomas will be a sophomore at Kilgore this season then join the Coogs for the 2021-'22 season. He'll have two seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining.
