Houston Cougars to participate in 2021 Maui Jim Maui Invitational

The Houston Cougars men's basketball team will be one of 8 teams participating in the 2021 Maui Jim Maui Invitational. The event takes place Thanksgiving Week. This year's Invitational is scheduled for November 23-25.
Yesterday, Jon Rothstein, CBS Sports' College Basketball insider, reported Butler, Chaminade (host school), Notre Dame, Oregon, Saint Mary's, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin are the 7 other schools who will participate in the Invitational.
Sources: Wisconsin, Oregon, Texas A&M, Butler, Notre Dame, Houston, Saint Mary's, and Chaminade will headline the 2021 Maui Invitational.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) April 7, 2020
An official announcement has not been made, yet. The participants for the 2020 Maui Invitational were announced last year, April 19, in a press release.

Since the inception of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational in 1984, 126 schools representing 26 conferences and 40 states have competed in the event. Teams that have participated in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational throughout the event's history own 68 of the 79 NCAA championships. Seven schools have gone on to win the national championship after competing in Maui earlier in the season.
