Despite not playing a basketball game last week (2 games were postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests), the Houston Cougars men's basketball team moved up 1 spot to number 6 in Week 4 of the Associated Press Top 25 men's college basketball poll.
The Cougars received 1169 points -- an increase of 79 points -- compared to the 1090 points Houston received in the Week 3 AP poll.
The 6th place ranking is Houston's highest AP ranking since finishing at No 5 in final poll of the 1983-84 season.
During the 2018-19 season, the Coogs appeared in the AP Top 10 for three straight weeks, eventually finishing ranked 11th, after advancing to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the first time since 1984.
