Tramon Mark repeats as Freshman of the Week in the American Athletic Conference

For the second straight week, Houston Cougars freshman guard Tramon Mark was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week.
Junior guard Quentin Grimes earned a place on the league's Weekly Honor Roll.
Making his first start of the season, Mark totaled 18 points, thanks to 9-of-12 shooting from the free throw line, and added four rebounds with a pair of steals in the Cougars' gritty 77-67 win over South Carolina on Saturday in inside the Fertitta Center.
Mark was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week for November 30 after averaging 14.0 points with 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in three wins against Lamar, Boise State and No. 14/13 Texas Tech.
This season, he ranks third on the team with 15.0 points per game and is averaging 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Mark also tops the Cougars with 28 free throws with 36 attempts and is second on the team with a .778 percentage from the line.

Grimes led all players with 23 points, thanks to a Fertitta Center-record 14-of-15 performance from the free throw line. He set the facility record for free throws and tied the mark first set by current teammate DeJon Jarreau.
With his performance last weekend, Grimes moved into the team lead with 17.8 points per game and is a close second with 7.3 rebounds per contest. He also leads the Cougars with a .846 free throw percentage.
American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll
Jayden Gardner, Junior, Forward, East Carolina
Gardner averaged 23.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in a pair of wins for the Pirates, including 20 points and eight rebounds against Radford. The junior forward shot 66.7 percent from the field (18-27) for the week.
Quentin Grimes, Junior, Guard, Houston
Grimes led the Cougars to a win over South Carolina on Saturday (December 5) with 23 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. The junior guard was 14-of-15 from the line.
Landers Nolley II, Redshirt-Sophomore, Guard, Memphis
Nolley averaged 23.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 assists in two wins for the Tigers last week. The redshirt-sophomore guard scored 23 points in each game.
Michael Durr, Junior, Center, USF
Durr recorded 14 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in the Bulls' win over Florida Gulf Coast. The junior center was 6-of-8 from the field.
Tyson Etienne, Sophomore, Guard, Wichita State
In two games last week, Etienne averaged 20.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists for the Shockers. The sophomore guard also recorded six 3-point field goals.
