Grimes followed that with a 24-point performance at South Carolina, thanks to 4 for 7 shooting from the 3-point line. With the Cougars leading 43-31 and 18 minutes remaining in the game, Grimes proceeded to score 16 of the Cougars' next 19 points in leading the team to Houston's first win in Columbia, SC.
This season, Grimes leads Houston and ranks second in the American Athletic Conference with 17.9 points per game. The College Park High School product also stands sixth in the league with 3.6 assists per contest and is the only player in The American to rank among the Top-6 leaders in both categories.
