Houston's Curl Misses SMU Game
Joe Curl, head coach of the University of Houston's women's basketball team, missed today's game versus the SMU game (a 73-67 UH win) after being admitted to a Dallas area hospital Saturday evening due to chest pains.
Coach Curl had significant heart failure and fluid around his lungs; however, he's now resting comfortably.
Coach Curl missed the entire 2007-08 season after suffering a preseason heart attack; but, he had coached the Cougars in every game since returning to the team prior to last season.
Fourth-year assistant coach Wade Scott will step in to lead the team against SMU on Sunday with the help from fellow assistants Tari Cummings and Chad Rickett.
