Why I Continue Doing This

Yesterday, re-affirmed (for me) why I continue covering women's basketball. Though the official start of college basketball practice is about four weeks away, I was able to spend time with a few coaches and exchange information ("off the record") – info I didn’t know that they knew as well as info I knew that they didn’t know. We discussed the upcoming season as well as looked back at the way the game has changed (for the good and the bad) over the last few years. Lastly, I laid the foundation to schedule weekly interviews for the upcoming season.

A few hours later, I received word from the Big 12, my credential request (via KCOH 1430 AM, www.kcohradio.com) to cover next month’s Media Day had been approved. (I know Texas A&M is the closest team to Houston competing in the Big 12; but, as me and some of colleagues say, “It’s the Big 12, baby.”)

Since the Houston Comets were disbanded last year, the number of visitors to my website, message board, and women's hoops blog reduced dramatically; however, despite limited time and resources, I cover women's hoops simply because I enjoy it.
