Owls' Announce 4 Signees
HOUSTON, TX -- Yesterday, Greg Williams, Rice Owls women's head basketball coach, announced four new additions to the Owls' family.
Coach Williams announced the signing of Jessica Goswitz, Lacey Neu, Zoe Rogers and Opal Taskila Wednesday to National Letters of Intent to play for the Rice women's basketball program. All four players will enter as freshman for the 2009-10 season.
Goswitz (Knoxville, Tenn. - Webb School of Knoxville) is a guard, while Neu (Granbury, Texas - Granbury HS) and Rogers (Bellaire, Texas - Bellaire HS) are forwards. Taskila (Winnsboro, Texas - Winnsboro HS) is a post player.
Of the four players, I've seen Zoe play a few times. One of the games I saw her play, Zoe scored 27 points and earned Most Valuable Player honors of the H.I.S.D Tournament last December.
Good luck to all four young ladies.
