Comets to Volunteer at Food Bank
Props to the Comets...
HOUSTON, TX -- Mistie Williams, Tamecka Dixon, Karleen Thompson and members of the Comets' business operations staff will volunteer time from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, September 19, to package and prepare food items for distribution to local communities impacted by Hurricane Ike.
The players will be in attendance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Comets would like to encourage members of the public who can volunteer to meet them at the Houston Food Bank (3811 Eastex Freeway) to dontate time or other contributions to help people in need. Volunteers must be at least eight years of age or older.

Volunteer numbers at the Food Bank could possibly diminish next week as adults return to work and children return to school for the first time since the hurricane.
