Save Your Comets
I haven't much about the Houston Comets since August 8, when news became public the Comets are for sale. Slightly three weeks have passed and I haven't seen nor heard any organized plans by the Comets' fans to keep their favorite team in Houston.
Why not?
Have the fans simply given up hope?
Or
Are the fans quietly forming plans which will be announced in the coming days?
Or, simply put are the different factions of Comets' fans too fractured to unite and put forth an effort to keep the four-time WNBA champs in Houston?
I'm not sure of the reasons for the deafening sounds of silence.
An organized effort similar to the "Save our Sonics and Storm" in Seattle, WA, could be effective.
I am not saying any organized attempts made by the Comets' fans would guarantee the team stays in Houston; but, I do believe some action should be taken.

I think some of us are exhausted of the constant turmoil of the last 2 years. Personally, I just don't have the strength anymore to fight.

Comet Fans ... you have to stand up for this ... take it from a Former Comets Season Ticket Holder who moved to Seattle and was a part of Save Our Sonics and Storm ...
YOU THE FANS HAVE TO STAND UP and be a part of this process ... you have to organized and you have to be committed to your team ... trust me losing your team truly SUCKS ... I may not have lost my Storm ... but I have made too many friends with Sonic fans to be to effected by the City's decision to accept a lease buyout ...

I hate to say it, but I agree Sorf. These last 2 games where the team came out so flat has not helped. I am so disappointed. The turmoil is just unreal. I just don't know.

I agree with Sorf and StalkerTJ (helluva photographer) both, especially Sorf. I think the team is suffering now from the distraction and will tank the season. There is no Candace Parker out there this year but several other good players that can turn us around next year - especially point guards. Where would we have the rally? I say let HRR/Kris organize it and see if we can't get Coop to come out and raise the roof. Or even Perrot's sister or Van
