Aqua as a Monarch

Former Texas A&M point guard, A'Quonesia Franklin, made her first trip to Houston, Texas, -- as a professional basketball player -- Saturday afternoon with her Sacramento Monarchs teammates. The Monarchs lost to the Houston Comets inside Reliant Arena 73 to 65; but, Aqua took time to speak to The HRR and a few other members of the media to give her thoughts on the game as well as being a rookie in the WNBA.

HRR: Tell me about playing in front of friends and family today.
Aqua: It's just to grea to see them. I hadn't seen them in two and a half months; and, we got to hang out together on the 4th. Just seeing them was exciting for me.

HRR: What are your thoughts on the game?
Aqua: Houston did a great job of controlling the game -- especially in the second half. They came out with more energy than we did. We came out pretty flat. As a defensive team, we have to play with more energy than we did today.

HRR: What about the team defense in the second half?
Aqua: They had a lot of points in the paint. We let them get the ball at the high post; and, they swung the ball inside and out. We had a lot of miscommunication on the team and just gave them easy baskets.

HRR: Talk about being in the WNBA.
Aqua: Being a rookie, It's a dream come true for me. It's a blessing for me to be her; and, I'm very excited.

HRR: Discuss your teammates.
Aqua: Great teammates. They welcomed me with open arms. I love them to death. They're just like family.
