Tina Thompson: "Our fans have been great"

Fans of the Houston Comets who've been to Reliant Arena this season to watch the Comets play have various opinions about the Arena.

Some fans don't like the lack of stats on the scoreboard. Some fans don't like the high prices for the concessions nor the, apparently, poor quality of those concessions that is attached with those high prices.

Other fans may have other complaints; but, there is one thing Comets fans may agree on: Reliant Arena is definitely loud -- especially compared to the Toyota Center.

The fans are "right on top of you" inside Reliant Arena.

Tina Thompson has noticed the difference between Reliant Arena and Toyota Center.

"Well, Reliant Arena is new (to the Comets)," Thompson stated. "It's definitely fan friendly. Because of the seating and the setting, we're kind of on top of each other. It's a little reminiscent of Compaq Center. It's very fan-friendly.

"There are no luxury seats. It doesn't separate one fan from the other. I like that the idea -- especially for the WNBA. It keeps us close and intimate.

"I do like it; but, our fans, as always, since year one in 1997, have been great. They'll always be great; and, I expect nothing less than that from them."

The Comets (2-7) will go for win number three tonight as they host the 0 and 9 Atlanta Dream.

Tip - off is set for 7:30 pm.

You're kidding me, right? I was at the game on Saturday and the arena was like an oven. I can't imagine what it's like for the players to play in there. The seats are way too close together. If you weigh more that 100 lbs, you might as well just sit on the lap of the person next to you. And loud? The loudest cheers on Saturday were for the Tshirt toss and when they put Coop up on the "big" screen.
