Delle Donne News
Updated:
June 11, 2008: "Nation's top recruit says break is deeper than basketball"
June 9, 2008: Former Huskies Sympathize with Delle Donne.
First, the Houston Comets lost tonight in Indianapolis to the Indiana Fever 84-75. The Comets (1-7) return home for a three game homestand which begins next Saturday, June 14, versus Sheryl Swoopes (remember her?) and the Seattle Storm.
Next, if you haven't heard of Elena Delle Donne (freshman, 6'5, wing player. Yes, wing player.) you will. She's the next "It" player in women's college basketball. I've had the chance to see Delle Donne play in person; and, Delle Donne's skill-set is spectacular! Delle Donne can literally "do it all"!
However, the high school "All-Everything" player is in the news today because she left summer school at the University of Connecticut and returned home. If Elena returns to UConn, this story will simply be about a player being homesick; however, if Delle Donne decides to transfer to another school, this story will grow bigger and bigger.
More info can be read at the Hartford Courant's UConn women's basketball blog.
