2008 NCAA Women's Final Four Semifinal Game #1
Tampa, FL -- The Tampa Turmoil strikes again!!!!!!!!!
For the first time in several years, UConn loses a game in the Final Four. It was a hard fought battle between Stanford and UConn. Stanford struck early and UConn battled back. But for every change UConn made to chip away at Stanford's lead, Stanford would respond. UConn could only get within 1 point at the 14:09 mark in the second half. UConn led only once (3-2) early in the first half. UConn coach Geno Auriemma just could not find a game plan that Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer could not counter.
I have to say that this game was way better than last year's semifinal game 1. Last year - atrocious, this year - a great battle.
