Current Comets Roster

First things first, I know Tina Thompson, Michelle Snow, and LaTasha Byears have not (yet) been re-signed by the Houston Comets.

Therefore, the three of them were not considered when I contacted the Comets and asked:

Which players are currently signed for the 2008 season?

Here's the answer I was given:

The following players are confirmed:
Tamecka Dixon
Erin Grant
Shannon Johnson
Anastasia Kostaki
Sancho Lyttle
Mwadi Mabika
Megan Mahoney
Hamchetou Maiga-Ba
Ashley Shields
Crystal Smith
Mistie Williams

Obviously, one name stood out to me: Anastasia Kostaki.

I asked about her; and, here's the answer I got:
Well, she still has an option on her pre-existing contract.

What would this mean for Camino?

Now that the Comets picked up Mahoney, I wonder if they will try anything with Kostaki.

Is Hilton suddenly concerned with demographics.

Camino should also be on that list, since the Comets have her rights from the Draft, and as far as I know, have not traded them away.

Kostaki will hopefully never darken the door of a WNBA venue...she turned out to be a bust, and certainly didn't seem to have a good time while she was in the States. What a turnover machine!!!

But, Camino is another story, and I am afraid the way Tom Cross was treated will prevent any dividends from being paid on that one. I also believe she will be staying in Oz this summer to do all she can to take a spot on the Opals for the OG's.

I'm waiting for answer regarding Camino; however, since I asked which players are currently signed, perhaps that's why Camino wasn't listed.

I hope we get AK back, that will give us a good looking player on the team to counter lost hot players. I am single love to check out my girls at games and since most of our new players look like me I need something easy on the eyes like AK. Don't get me wrong I am a basketball purist but it does not help if a player is drop dead gorgeous in my eyes. My personal All-time WNBA Night Dream Team is Sue Bird, Becky, AK, Lauren, and Swin. But Coop used to have it going on too back in the day. I also got hots for Katie Doug. Any thoughts on best looking girls in WNBA?

The Comets did confirm what was mentioned earlier: the team does still own the draft rights to Renae Camino.
