Comets re-sign Tina
The Houston Comets have re-signed Tina Thompson, it was announced today by Houston Comets Head Coach and General Manager Karleen Thompson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Thompson has been a mainstay of the franchise since becoming the first player selected in the inaugural Women’s National Basketball Association Draft held on April 28, 1997.
“Tina is definitely the leader of this team and re-signing is an indication of her commitment to the Comets,” said Coach Thompson. “A veteran of her caliber who possesses a great work ethic, both in practices and games, is the best example you can offer younger players.”
Thompson is currently playing her second season with the Spartak Moscow Region team in Russia, after previously helping the team capture the 2007 EuroLeague Women title and Russia Superleague crown.

I've purchased zero season tickets ... after 8 years as a STH ... and that's how it will stay ... because Tina doesn't make up for the loss of Sheryl and the acquisition of Mabika.
The Comets are a mess. But for those of you who are still supporting them, I sincerely hope it will be a good season.
