KSU's Gipson and OU's D-Rob Earn Big 12 Honors
Marlies Gipson (Kansas State) was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week while Danielle Robinson (Oklahoma) was chosen Rookie of the Week by a media voting panel for games of Jan 22-28.
Gipson was honored for the second time in her career while Robinson was recognized for the fourth time this season.
Gipson helped the Wildcats to their first 6-0 start in Big 12 history with two victories this week, including a 68-63 upset win at No. 14/13 Oklahoma State.
Robinson averaged 12 points, 6.5 assists and three steals in the Sooners' 78-39 victory over Texas Tech and 65-57 defeat of No. 17/14 Georgia last week.
