The WNBA and ESPN announced an agreement which will provide the WNBA a first:
Rights Fees
For the first time in its 11-year history, the WNBA has signed a television contract which will give the league rights fees.
The agreement extends the WNBA’s relationship with ESPN, which began with the league’s inaugural season in 1997, to 20 seasons.
