Adaora and Nicole

This past Thursday, May 24, high school players Adaora Elonu (Alief Elsik) and Nicole Morris (Cy-Fair) appeared on Sports Rap (www.kcohradio.com). They were guests on the show to discuss the upcoming 2007 Cy-Fair Classic (July 6 - 8) as well as themselves of course. Both young ladies are members of the Class of 2008.

Mr. Cedrick LaFleur (Cy-Fair Texans) and Ms. Phyllis Dallas (head coach of the Houstonians, City of Houston Parks and Rec Dept.) also appeared on the show.

Adaora is ranked the 6th or 7th best forward (small) in the nation by a couple of scouting services.

Among the numerous things discussed, Adaora told us she's 6'2 (not the 6'0 or 5'11.5 some sites have listed for her). She is a straight A student at Elsik; and, in addition to hoops, she also plays volleyball and participates in track. Adaora said she has not narrowed her list of colleges / universities down at all; however, she did say "no" when she was asked if the University of Houston and Rice University were among her choices. Adaora plays for the Houstonians AAU basketball team.

Nicole Morris, 5'5", spoke first on Sports Rap; and, she mentioned she's an 'A' and 'B' student at Cy-Fair. Nicole said she's getting ready to take the SAT test on June 2. She mentioned she's narrowed her list of universities to include TCU; SMU; and Tulane. Nicole is ranked 66th in the nation.

Both young ladies were informed on the show by Cedrick LaFleur they were chosen to participate in the Top Ten All-American Camp which consists of 160 of the top girls high school players (juniors and seniors) in the country. The camp takes place in Atlanta (actually Suwanee), GA, July 15.
