RU is Making it Rain
No live blogging tonight (so far) from the Final Four; but, at halftime of the Rutgers - LSU game, the Scarlet Knights "made it rain" with eight made three-point shots (out of 10 tries) in the first half to take a surprising 37 to 19 lead over the LSU Lady Tigers. RU's Matee Ajavon went a perfect 4 for 4 from the Land of Three.
LSU is stunned.
I thought this game would be a low-scoring, slug-fest. Well, LSU is struggling to score; but, unfortunately for the Lady Tigers, Rutgers has their offense in high gear from behind the arc. Ten assists on 13 made baskets.
Stunning.
The second half is minutes away.

Man oh man, what a disappointing showing by LSU?! The Lady Tigers lost 59 to 35 to Rutgers in the first semi-final game of the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
Sylvia Fowles struggled the entire ball game. She made just 2 of her 10 field goal attempts; and, most of the shots were in close. Fowles finished the game with five points, seven rebounds, two blocked shots, one steal, and four turnovers.
LSU shot an awful 26.4% (14 for 53) from the field for the game:
8 for 28 (28.6% in the 1st half).
6 for 25 (24.0%) in the 2nd half).
Rutgers cooled off in the second half:
13 for 30 (43.3% in the 1st half).
7 for 21 (33.3% in the 2nd half).
LSU's 35 points set a new record for fewest points scored in an NCAA Final Four ball game. The 94 combined points also set a record for fewest points (102 - April 4, 2004, Tennessee versus LSU in New Orleans, LA).
Matee Ajavon led all scorers with 16 points followed by 15 from Essence Carson.
Rutgers advances to the Championship Game and will face the winner of the North Carolina - Tennessee game which is up next.
If the rumors are true, Van Chancellor has some things to work on when he arrives at LSU.
