Rockets Announce Budinger's Signing
HOUSTON, TX -- The Houston Rockets' general manager, Daryl Morey, announced the team has signed rookie swingman Chase Budinger to a multi-year contract.
According to reports, the contract is a two-year contract with team options on the third and fourth seasons.
The Rockets acquired the draft rights to Budinger, 6'7", 218, 44th overall draft pick in the 2009 NBA Draft from the Detroit Pistons on June 25, 2009, in exchange for a future second-round pick and cash.
Budinger averaged 17.8 points per game in five summer league games in the NBA's 2009 Summer League action last month. Budinger averaged 17.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in three seasons at the University of Arizona.
Budinger is an accomplished volleyball player with excellent leaping ability. He's very comfortable and quite capable of attacking the basket.
