Morey Before NBA Draft
HOUSTON, TX -- Daryl Morey, Houston Rockets General Manager, spoke to the local media this afternoon -- one day before the 2009 NBA Draft.
Morey touched a few different topics such as the Rockets' continuing efforts to obtain a pick in the Draft either by trade or by buying a pick; Tracy McGrady's status with the Rockets; the 2009 Draft overall; and Yao Ming's health and his future with the Rockets.
One of Morey's comments regarding McGrady: "The reason we're going to have a pretty high bar on moving him is because he's still a guy, coach (Rick Adelman) and I thought we were missing which is a guy who can get a high quality shot at the end of the game. We want to position ourselves for the playoffs; so, it looks like it's going to be hard for Tracy to be here the good chunk of the year. So, if we can get a talented player that can help us all season, I think we've got to look at it. That's just my job."
