T-Mac and J-Rich Earn Honors
The Charlotte Bobcats' Jason Richardson and the Houston Rockets' Tracy McGrady today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 3 through Sunday, March 9.
During a 4-0 week for the Bobcats, Richardson averaged 28.5 points, 3.0 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals, leading the Bobcats to their first five-game winning streak in franchise history.
McGrady led the Rockets to a 3-0 week, averaging 32.3 points, 7.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds. McGrady recorded his fourth 40-point game this season after scoring 41 in a 106-96 win over the New Orleans Hornets on March 8 to lift the Rockets to their 18th consecutive win, the fourth-longest streak in league history.
