Rockets FSN Rating best since 1999
Winning does indeed have it's privileges.
FSN Houston announced this news this morning:
The Houston Rockets continue to dominate on the court and in the Nielsen television ratings. The team’s 19th consecutive victory Monday (March 10) against the New Jersey Nets produced a 7.1 Nielsen household rating, the highest rating for a Rockets regular-season game on FSN Houston since a 7.5 on March 22, 1999.
The telecast easily won the 9:00 hour in Houston with an 8.4 rating, finishing ahead of KHOU-CBS’s CSI: Miami (6.9), KPRC-NBC’s Medium (4.8), KRIV’s FOX News at 9 (4.4), and KTRK-ABC’s October Road (3.9). Overall, the game tied for No. 3 in the market in primetime.
An average of 146,400 households in Houston watched the Rockets match the third-longest winning streak in NBA history. The final hour from 9:00-10:00 PM CT attracted the game’s largest viewership with an average of 172,000 households. The rating peaked at 8.9 (182,300 HH) from 9:00-9:15 PM CT.
If the streak is still alive, I wonder what the numbers will be like when the Boston Celtics come to town next Tuesday?
