T-Mac Misses Shootaround

UPDATE: 6:32 pm, Feb. 7, 2008.
Tracy McGrady is going to play versus the Cavaliers.

Keith Jones, VP of Basketball Operations and Athletic Trainer, told the media at about 5:45 this evening:
"Number 1 is on his way here. He's going to sit with us. He's not going to sit in the stands and drink beer. He's going to sit with us."

"He's been released from the hospital and he's on his way over. He's not 100%; but, he's going to give it a go. He had a long day at the hospital with the IVs and the shots and all that. But, he said from the time he got there (the hospital) this morning, he told Dr. Muntz he was playing. Hopefully, he'll come here and feel all right. He'll put on his uniform and do something."

While I was attending the Cleveland Cavaliers' shootaround and talking with Daniel Gibson (Houston Jones HS and University of Texas) and Damon Jones (Galveston Ball HS and University of Houston), I heard from one of the media who attended the Rockets' shootaround, Rockets' forward Tracy McGrady missed the shootaround shession because of a "severe upper respiratory" infection.

Apparently, T-Mac is now at the hospital getting checked out.

Currently, it's uncertain whether or not T-Mac will play in tonight's game versus the Cavs.
