T-Mac to Miss Media Day

Yesterday, the Houston Rockets announced Tracy McGrady will miss Media Day on Monday, October 1, in order to attend funeral services for his grandfather, Eddie McGrady, in Auburndale, Florida.

“This is obviously a very difficult time for Tracy,” said Rockets Owner Leslie Alexander. “We offer our condolences and support for the entire family. Tracy will join the team in Austin once he has had time to grieve with his loved ones and his family obligations are complete.”

My condolences to Tracy and his family.

Mutombo Press Conference

On a brighter note, prior to Monday's Media Day, the Rockets will hold a press conference to announce the re-signing of center Dikembe Mutombo.

Coogs announce 07-08 Sked

Yesterday, Tom Penders and the Houston Cougars officially released the 2007 - 2008 schedule.

Home games versus Kentucky (December 18) and Arizona (January 12) top the schedule; however, the Cougars will also host four teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC):

Texas Southern -- November 21
Grambling State -- November 24
Southern -- December 8
Arkansas-Pine Bluff -- December 29

Once again, the Cougars will square off with the Rice Owls twice in the regular season (January 23 in Reliant Arena and February 23 in the HOF).

Owls Release 07-08 Sked

Being without a laptop is tough; but, things are slowly improving.

Yesterday, the Rice Owls released their schedule for the upcoming
2007 - 2008 schedule.

Due to the renovations of Autry Court, the team will be vagabonds for the home portion of the schedule. Home games will take place at Reliant Arena, the Merrell Center, and one game (versus Texas) will be held at Toyota Center.

I'll attend as many games as I can.
