Battier Bails Out Rockets
I turned the television off. Yep, I did it. I assumed the Rockets had their season opener in hand with a 10 point lead over the Los Angeles Lakers with about two minutes left in the ball game.
WRONG!
I wake up to read Rockets forward Shane Battier hit a tie-breaking go ahead three-pointer with 2.3 seconds which helped the Rockets defeat the Lakers 95 to 93.
What the heck?!
Looking at the final box score, Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 45 points; but, he missed nine of the Lakers' 18 missed free throws (27 for 45); so, clearly, despite the road win, the Rockets have some things to improve upon in this young season.

Kris, I watched it to the end...typical last minute turnovers. Alston gets doubled teamed in the corner and has his pass deflected to a Laker. Yao has a double team from behind as he spins toward the basket and the ball is stolen from him. T-Mac doubled teamed and fumbles the ball...how many times have we seen that stuff done in the closing minutes? It is the same garbage that cost us the 7th game of the playoffs last year. WHEN ARE THE ROCKETS GOING TO LEARN HOW TO CLOSE OUT A GAME?
