The 'major player transaction' is the signing of Steve Francis.
Francis adds to the tremendous glut of guards for the Rockets:
Francis, Luther Head, Mike James, Tracy McGrady, Rafer Alston, Aaron Brooks, and (for the time being) John Lucas III and Bob Sura.
