Live Blog: Rockets host Pistons tonight at 7:30
I'll be conducting a live blog tonight during the Houston Rockets (43 - 25) - Detroit Pistons (43 - 23) basketball game.
If you don't know me nor have you heard me on Houston sports radio stations the last 11 plus years, I'm a huge Detroit Pistons' fan. However, being a Pistons' fan does not mean, I won't tell it like it is tonight. If the Pistons are stinking up Toyota Center, I'll say so. Also, if the Rockets are kicking butt, I'll say so.
Driving to the T.C., I saw three people wearing Detroit Pistons' jerseys: (#36 - Rasheed Wallace, #32 - Rip Hamilton, and #1 - Chauncey Billups).
We'll see if those fans leave the T.C. happy tonight or not.
fyi - Billups will play tonight. His groin injury has healed enough for him to give it a go tonight versus the Rockets. Rip Hamilton will play tonight, too.
However, until the game tips off, I'm going to watch some college hoops.

Computer problems will force me to make some adjustments.
Apparently, I'm not as high-tech as I need to be high up in the T.C.

Rockets lead Pistons 36 to 25 with 5:47 left in the 2nd quarter.
Houston's offense is clicking; the Pistons' players are bitching to the refs; Yao Ming is rolling.

The Rockets have stretched a 48 - 35 halftime lead to 56 to 37 with 9:28 left in the 3rd quarter.
Detroit is missing from the outside while Houston is 4 for 5 in the third.
Time-out, Pistons. We shall see if Detroit decides to attack the basket and get to the foul line more than the woeful 2 attempts they had in the first half.
Yao Ming has 20 points on 7 for 10 shooting from the field and 6 for 7 from the foul line.

Wireless connection problems have completely disrupted my live blog tonight; however, those problems do not take away how well the Rockets are playing versus the Pisotns.
Houston leads 71 to 52 with 2 minutes left in the third quarter. It's disappointing to watch Rasheed Wallace jack up silly 3 point shots instead of getting on the block and taking advantage of his height over Chuck Hayes.
Detroit's "light switch" mentality kicked in during the second quarter; and, the Rockets are taking full advantage of it.

End of the third quarter:
Houston 73, Detroit 56.
Detroit has attempted six free throws through three quarters. Those sparse numbers are pathetic and a decent indicator of Detroit's lack of aggression.
Houston is 15 for 19 from the foul line and 27 for 56 from the field.
Yao Mind has 23 points while T-Mac has 18.
Rip Hamilton and Antonio McDyess lead Detroit with 10 points a piece.

The Pistons got aggressive in the fourth quarter and pulled within four points; but, the Rockets lead 91 - 85 with 11.7 seconds left in the game. McGrady misses both free throws.
The Rockets will win; but, once again, the Pistons wait too late to play aggressive basketball. Detroit cheated the fans with such a lackadaisical effort for 30 minutes tonight.
Rockets 91, Detroit 85.
