Rockets obtain Snyder

My life right now is crap. These last few weeks have been horrible for me personally and professionally.

But I digress...

Since Mike James dissed the Rockets and signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Rockets had to adjust their plans "on the fly".

Friday, July 14th, the Rockets did just that by acquiring guard Kirk Snyder, 6'6, from the New Orleans / Oklahoma City Hornets (re: Nooky as my friend and colleague Matt Jackson calls them).

Snyder was an outstanding player in college (Nevada). I saw him dust the Rice Owls on more than one occasion; however, Kirk has not yet enjoyed consistent success on the NBA level. He's a talented offensive player with an attitude about him. His defense needs work; and, so does his shot selection.

Rockets head coach Jeff Van Gundy has his work cut off for him trying to mold Kirk into the type of player JVG likes -- gritty, hard-nosed, high basketbll IQ, etc.

Hopefully, Kirk will listen while he works.
