A few thoughts from M.D. Anderson

I'm typing on a computer in the ACB at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. My mom is having a second biopsy; so, I'm anxiously waiting for that procedure to be done. Over these last few weeks, I've realized how tiring and draining this whole process can be for the patient and their loved ones. I'm amazed at the number of people I've seen here at the Center which tells me we're definitely not alone in our battle against cancer.

Obviously, I'm not at Comets practice; but, I'll try to post a few mp3s later today. The team waived Cynthia Jordan today; but, as HRR Members know, that move was expected based on how I described her performances in the practices.

Kris, I went through breast cancer with my mother. Yes, I understand how draining the whole process is for the patient and their family. As one that has gone through this, the best advice I can give you is to stay strong and lean on your close friends when you need strength and comfort.

The medical community has made great advances in cancer treatments since my mother's breast cancer. So stay confident and optimistic with the medical treatments, and don't forget to let God help too.

    Kris,
I know Tracy has written you to let you know you and your mother have our prayers and support but I want to add my personal best wishes. My father had stomach cancer and we were often at Anderson. It can be depressing, those surroundings, but there is also a wonderful affirmation of how precious life is and how important it is for us to always be nurturing our relationships. God be with you...
