Ford "HBCU" Business Classic to air on TV One
I received info about this yesterday; and, I'll watch it this Sunday.
The “Ford HBCU Business Classic” is the first documentary to feature African American students on the road to success. Five finalist teams from leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities presented business plans to a live audience and celebrity judges at the 2009 Ford HBCU Business Classic Competition on Friday, April 17.
The winning team received $35,000 in personal scholarship funds and $15,000 for their HBCU. An additional $50,000 in scholarship funds were distributed to the first runner-up and second place teams and their schools, courtesy of Ford.
The “Ford HBCU Business Classic” provides behind-the-scenes footage of the students preparing for the competition, meeting the celebrity judges, and highlights from the competition including the presentations and judges’ selection process. The five finalist teams hailed from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL; Lincoln University in Chester County, PA; and Howard University in Washington, DC.
The documentary will air on Sunday, August 2nd 8:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. TV One - Check www.tvoneonline.com for local times and channel listings.
