Mistie Stepped Up

The Houston Comets picked up a gutsy 75 to 67 victory Tuesday night over the San Antonio Silver Stars.

The Comets (3-11) overcame 32 points from the Silver Stars' Becky Hammon thanks to solid team defense and balance scoring. Four of Houston's five starters scored in double-figures.

After the game, during her post-game press conference, Comets head coach Karleen Thompson credited Sancho Lyttle and Mistie Williams for their solid efforts. Lyttle scored a season-high 12 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds in just 19 minutes while Williams came off the bench and scored three points; pulled down six rebounds; picked up one assist and one steal; and was a very active presence on defense in her 10 minutes and 28 seconds.

Williams played all but the final 33 seconds of the fourth quarter and helped the Comets outscore the Silver Stars 24 to 13 in the fourth period.
